Cold forming (or cold working) is the process of shaping metals without changing their internal structure by passing them through molds with high speed and pressure.

The materials are not heated before forming. The process is carried out at approximately room temperature. There are various versions such as roll forming, extrusion, forging, wire drawing, and sheet forming.


The purpose of cold forming is to shape the material without creating discontinuities and cracks.
